I recently attended a horse painting workshop in Mosca, CO, taught by Jill Soukup.  Intense doesn't even begin to describe this week-long adventure!  We covered so many aspects of painting in general, and drawing/painting horses, in specific.  What a great time it was!

Below are three small oil studies painted in oil on paper.  The first one I painted with primarily the colors I saw in may photo; the second one I painted using a blue and orange complementary color combination; and the last one was a value study from a black and white photograph.  I like them all, but when I do my final painting, I think I'll go with the blue and orange complementary color combo!
