So excited was I when I casually glanced over at the floral section at our local market, Sprouts.  "Are those peonies?  In December?," I asked myself.  Much to my delight, there were numerous bouquets of what appeared to be tightly closed pink peonies.  I grabbed a bunch, checked out, and gleefully headed home.  Peonies!

I clipped them right away, put them in fresh water, and set the buds up to be painted.  By the next day, they were blooming a big, creamy pinkish white and gave off an intoxicating scent.  So, painting that day was both joyful and sweet smelling
